| The
V8 Supercar Experience team has finished on a high in the 35th ADAC
Nurburgring 24hr 2007
The first V8 Holden
Supercar to tackle the famous "Nordschleife" was spearheaded
by team owner & lead race driver Mal Rose.
He took the Aussie Holden to the finish after a battle with 230
cars to be 5th in class & 64th overall.
The team of drivers were Anthony Robson, Kevin
Burton & car owner Adam Wallis. This was the 4th time
to Nurburgring for most drivers in the team and as Mal Rose says,
“Experience is everything.”
The event started
with a torrential storm flooding the entire 26km track. After 12
hours the race was stopped by thick fog at 4.00am making conditions
too hazardous for driving.
The V8 Holden was
as high as 30th outright & 3rd in class SP8 before a mechanical
problem forced the pit crew to do a gearbox change that lost the
team 4 laps.
The Holden V8 Supercar
missed a podium place by only 10 min 13 sec.
The engine, built by Mike Excel of Garry Rogers Motorsport, performed
the entire race without a problem.
Toyo tires Europe
have now proven their tyres can go 1000 km with fantastic grip.
280 / 680 / 18
The car used Castrol Oils & was fitted with 6 Xenon Oz high
beam lights
